Prohibited Use During Rated Games

Using any chess engine or analysis tool during rated online games or tournaments violates the terms of service of most chess platforms and constitutes cheating. Chess.com, Lichess, and other platforms use advanced anti-cheat detection systems that can detect engine-assisted play and will permanently ban offending accounts. Chess Next Move does not endorse, encourage, or support the use of our tools during live competitive play.

Users who violate this policy may have their accounts terminated without refund, as outlined in our Terms of Service.

Human Mode

Human Mode adjusts engine suggestions to produce more realistic, human-like move recommendations. This feature is designed to help players study and understand how strong human players approach positions, rather than relying solely on perfect engine lines. It is an educational tool for learning natural play patterns and improving chess intuition.

AI Coach & AI Move Insights

Our AI Coach and AI Move Insights features use artificial intelligence to generate natural-language explanations of chess moves. These explanations are automated and may occasionally contain inaccuracies, simplifications, or incomplete analysis. AI-generated insights are designed as learning aids and do not replace the guidance of a qualified chess instructor. Always verify critical analysis against the engine evaluation.

Position Reader

The Position Reader uses computer vision to detect chess positions from screenshots and images. While it works with most board styles and image qualities, it may occasionally misidentify pieces or positions, particularly with low-resolution images, unusual board themes, or partially obscured boards. Always verify that the detected position matches your source before relying on the analysis.

Smart Tactics

Smart Tactics identifies tactical patterns (forks, pins, discovered attacks, etc.) based on engine analysis. Pattern identification is automated and may not capture every tactical nuance in a given position. Use Smart Tactics as a learning aid alongside your own analysis and study.

Third-Party Platform Compliance

Chess Next Move is an independent analysis platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any third-party chess platform. Users are solely responsible for ensuring their use of Chess Next Move complies with the terms of service, rules, and policies of any third-party platform they use. Chess Next Move has no control over how users choose to use our tools and accepts no responsibility for any actions taken by users on third-party platforms.

Analysis Accuracy

All engine analysis is generated by the Stockfish 18 chess engine running in your browser via WebAssembly. While Stockfish is the strongest publicly available chess engine, analysis is machine-generated and may not account for all practical considerations in a real game. Results should be used as a learning aid, not as absolute truth. Analysis depth and quality depend on your device's processing power and the configured ELO depth setting.

No Professional Advice

Chess Next Move is not a substitute for professional chess coaching. Our AI-powered insights are automated explanations designed to help you learn, but they do not replace the guidance of a qualified chess instructor. For competitive preparation, we recommend combining our tools with professional coaching.
