14-Day Money-Back Guarantee (Web Purchases)
At Chess Next Move, we want you to be completely satisfied with your subscription. We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for new subscriptions purchased directly through our website (Stripe), subject to the conditions outlined below.
Important: This 14-day guarantee applies only to purchases made through our website. App Store and Google Play purchases have different refund windows — see "App Store Purchases" below.
Eligibility for Refund
You are eligible for a full refund if:
- Your refund request is made within 14 days of the original purchase date
- You have not used any paid features during the subscription period
- This is your first refund request for Chess Next Move
- The subscription was not purchased using a promotional code or discount (unless required by applicable law)
What Constitutes "Use" of Paid Features
Paid features are considered "used" if you have:
- Exceeded the free daily AI insights limit
- Taken the ELO Rating Test
- Analyzed a full game using PGN import
- Created a custom puzzle
- Set up a board from FEN or Position Reader
- Used Human Mode
- Used Smart Tactics (Pro only)
- Used the Position Reader (Pro only)
- Used the Next Move Calculator above the free ELO limit
Simply logging into your account or viewing your subscription status does not constitute use of paid features.
Desktop App (One-Time Purchase)
The Chess Next Move Desktop App is a one-time purchase with a 14-day money-back guarantee. You are eligible for a full refund if:
- Your refund request is made within 14 days of the original purchase date
- This is your first refund request for the Desktop App
Refunds will not be issued for the Desktop App if:
- Your license was revoked due to a violation of our Terms of Service
- The request is made after 14 days from the purchase date
- You have previously received a refund for the Desktop App
Upon refund, your Desktop App license will be deactivated and Pro access will be revoked. Your account and any data remain intact per our Privacy Policy.
Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds will not be issued in the following cases:
- Request made after 14 days from the purchase date
- Paid features have been used during the subscription period
- Multiple refund requests (one refund per customer)
- Account was terminated due to violation of Terms of Service
- Subscription was purchased using promotional codes or discounts (unless required by applicable law)
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please:

- Include your account email address
- Provide the date of purchase
- State the reason for your refund request
Processing Time
Refund requests are typically processed within 5–7 business days. Once approved:
- Credit/Debit Card payments (Stripe): Refunds will be credited to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank
Refund Disputes
If your refund request is denied and you believe it was denied in error, you may appeal by emailing [email protected] with the subject line "Refund Appeal" and a description of why you believe the denial was incorrect. We will review appeals within 10 business days.
Subscription Cancellation
If you do not qualify for a refund but wish to cancel your subscription:
- You can cancel at any time from your account settings
- Your paid access will continue until the end of your current billing period
- No further charges will be made after cancellation
- Partial refunds for unused time are not provided for cancelled subscriptions
App Store Purchases
If you purchased your subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store:
- Chess Next Move cannot process refunds for App Store or Google Play purchases. These platforms handle all billing and refunds directly.
- Apple and Google have their own refund policies and timeframes, which may be shorter than our 14-day web guarantee

European Union Residents
If you are a resident of the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason, in accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive. However, by using paid features, you acknowledge that you have requested the service to begin immediately and you lose your right of withdrawal once the digital content has been accessed or used. This does not affect any other statutory rights you may have under your local consumer protection laws.
